Kavan
Kavan connects people to licensed mental-health support with guardrails for safety and continuity. It blends live sessions, journaling, and moderated community spaces without feeling like a generic chat app.
The problem
People delay care when booking a therapist feels bureaucratic, and crisis moments do not wait for office hours. Journals become abandoned text files with no signal for clinicians or the user. Peer support can turn unsafe without moderation and clear boundaries.
How we solved it
We implemented guided onboarding to match intent (therapy vs. skills vs. peer support) and reduce drop-off. Secure video sessions and session notes live alongside the user timeline providers actually reference. Mood journaling uses lightweight prompts and trends so patterns surface without overwhelming charts. Anonymous groups are topic-based with reporting flows and human-in-the-loop moderation hooks. Reminder automation respects quiet hours and adapts to streaks and missed days gently. Privacy-first defaults (minimal profile surfacing) keep sensitive use cases comfortable.
